CAVE OF FORGOTTEN DREAMS (2011) DOCUMENTARY
For thousands of years, no one knew that humankind’s oldest piece of visual art existed in a cave in the South of France. Since its discovery in 1994, access to the Chauvet Cave has been strictly prohibited, save only for a select group of archaeologists and paleontologists. Remarkably, Werner Herzog and a tiny film crew were granted unprecedented access to the cave and the 30,000 year old paintings within it, offering a brief glimpse into the mysterious lives of our ancient ancestors.
Directed by Werner Herzog.
