Yellow Ostrich frontman Alex Schaff is a man on the run, racing through the forest, jumping off a cliff, and swimming for safety as he tries to elude a group of mysterious pursuers in the music video for “Whale” from the band’s full-length debut album The Mistress. Recording from his Wisconsin bedroom, Schaff ingeniously mixes drums, guitar and cymbals with vocal loops to create a dense, richly layered and utterly captivating soundscape.
