ANIMAL KINGDOM (2010):
Australian writer/director David Michod takes us into the dark under world of Melbourne. Joshua “J” Cody has just loss his mother and now is forced to live with his drug slinging criminal cousins. Only seventeen, “J” being is welcomed into the family by being thrown into the fire of a long overdue battle between his criminal family and a group of vigilant detectives. Things explode when “J” learns that homicide detective Nathan Leckie (Guy Pearce) is gunning for him.
In this gun fighting battle, James Frecheville delivers his debut with conviction and explains why Animal Kingdom took the World Cinema Jury Prize at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.
